There are two ways to be invited to play in an edition of the Coastal Cup
- Qualify via the 3L1T3 Golf Club Rankings
- Be Selected as a Captain’s Pick
Each spring, All 3L1T3 Golf Club members who haven’t played in an edition of the Coastal Cup are drafted onto the East Coast or West Coast Teams by the general managers and captians.
Players Can be Traded between Teams up until July 4th with the agreement of all 4 team executives
Each year, the players for the event are selected as such:
- The 8 most-tenured players on each coast receive an automatic invite
- The 8 highest-ranked players by July 4th on each coast roster receive an invite
- Each Captain receives 4 picks of their choosing, requiring that the player establishes a handicap piror to the tournament
Players who do not qualify for the event within 3 years of being drafted return to the open draft pool in the following spring.
