Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
Professional golf returns this weekend in a big way with the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. Playing on home turf, the US have to like their odds, but the Europeans have a very strong squad as well and will be looking for the first back to back win since 2010-2014 when the Europeans won 3 straight. Pair that with some of the football games on offer this weekend and you might find yourself with some deep impressions on the couch come Sunday night.
The timing for a weekend in front of the tv couldn’t be better as we just completed our Coastal Cup last weekend in Sault Ste. Marie. With 2 rounds of best ball, 1 round of alternate shot and 1 of singles it was our biggest Coastal Cup yet, and we had great squads on either side with 9 for the East and 8 for the West Coast. With some playing an additional round on Thursday for the Elite Open, it was a 90 hole extravaganza. The East fell behind the first day in the Fourball matches, and despite several competitive matches the second day, the West was able to retain the cup with a final score of 16.5-7.5. West Coast captain, Daniel Mullan VI went a perfect 4-0

Week 25 Recap
- With the Coastal Cup occurring this past weekend, its only right we take a look at next year’s West Coast Captain Rob Dumser. Last weekend, Mr. Dumser fired a round of 78 at Harry L Jones Golf Course, winning a key two-on-two match. With the West Coast dominance continuing the past weekend, Rob will be looking to forge his own legacy in the West Coast record books. Be on the lookout for a large Charlotte contingent next year.
- Outside of Coastal, we did still have some high-level golf being played across the league. I’m sure everyone has grown accustomed to seeing Brandon Fiting in these highlights. I’m happy to say he’s back this week, and deservedly so. He shot back to back 70s at Saginaw CC and Mueller’s Valley CC. Both were the lowest scores in the league last week, as well as the 2 lowest Net Stroke Differentials. Crazy impressive stuff.
- While unable to make it to Coastal, East Coast team member Marty Peck played at hidden gems Calderone and Eagle Crest this past week. The East Coast could’ve used him, as he shot scores of 78 & 82. After a really strong season of golf for Marty testing his game at hard courses, he seems to be finishing even stronger than he began.
